I'd be interested to hear, sometime, how you hurt your knee on the way to La Moleta.
More important, just heard Asker on Freetrail. At the end he said the next advance in ultra fueling will be in daily eating. You might want to get Ben Bikman's input on what protein and fat is best to ingest long-term for optimal mitochondrial function. My guess is he would say something as simple as the typical protein and fat composition of ruminant meat: beef, lamb, elk, bison, venison, etc.
Think about it. Why ingest a chemically unstable fat (PUFA) beyond the very low levels people used to consume before the mass production of seed oils? The linoleic acid in soybean oil, canola oil, etc. oxidizes easily, turns into toxic metabolites, and degrades mitochondrial function when levels get high. Ruminant meat is mostly MUFA, then SFA, and little PUFA. Dense nutrition, vitamins, minerals, peptides. It will make you unbeatable.
(The flawed paradigm was established in the 1960s and 1970s, with funding from the tobacco and sugar industries, and it continues to this day. Good luck.)
Safe travels and looking forward to hear what’s ahead. I love learning about nutrition and Precision does a great job sharing athlete journeys, so it sounds like a great partnership and love your content.
Excited to see how you close out the year + congrats on the partnership
I love PF, so it’s cool to see your an official partner with them.
Also glad you enjoyed your trip and the lessons learned.
As always, excited to see what you do next!

This sounds like a hint for a return to Cape Town.
There are some great, more technical (adventurous) routes on the famed mountain and towards the Winelands to explore if you have the time.
Precision is numero uno!! 🦅
