That's the same nutrition mix I use: PF90 gels and 1000 ph drink mixes. Somehow I'm not winning Western States... yet? This was a fun read. Thanks for sharing.

Just shows how much goes into being one of the best and that you make sure they don’t stay in the dark as we’d be nothing without those who support us.

It is great to hear from you that you have changed coaches. All the best to you and to the whole village that is there with you to support and show the love on daily basis. :)

Take this into account from an athlete who is amateur. He looks Caleb Olson has nailed this year & might have the best performances of his career in ultra running till date. But then why change coaches? Yeah there would be multiple reasons and not a singular factor which would have led you to this decision. Can you tell about this in a detailed manner, curious to know about your insights regarding this as it will be helpful how you make decisions around coaching.

I don’t think I should go into that in a detailed manner publicly but we had some philosophical differences and communication challenges that made it difficult to work together after Western States. There’s more to a coach-athlete relationship than just results.

You need not further explain it to me brother, you privacy about your life decisions matters more. This is enough for others to understand that it no just about the results. Alignment of core values and things such as you mentioned some philosophical differences and communication challenges should also be aligned and shouldn't be an obstacle b/w the relationship of an athlete & a coach.
